We are happy to decorate items you bring in and to apply decals to your vehicles, windows, equipment, and other surfaces. The notes below explain what we can work on, how we prep and place graphics, and what to expect when you supply the item.
What we work on
- Apparel, bags, and similar garments
- Signs, panels, and other customer-provided substrates
- Vehicles, windows, doors, equipment, and other clean, smooth surfaces
Getting started
- Share photos and details of your item and where you want the decoration or decal.
- We review the material, placement, artwork, and timing to confirm it will work.
- If a test press or test panel is needed, we will confirm and quote that first.
How we handle customer-supplied work
Customer-supplied work involves extra handling and additional risk, so we group requests into two project types to set clear expectations.
Project Type 1: Quick Press (simple names and numbers)
This project type is for straightforward, print-ready personalization such as a last name on the back of a shirt.
Typical examples:
- Standard garments that are new, clean, and unwashed
- Standard name or number requests using our standard fonts
- One standard placement (example: back name or front chest name)
- No artwork cleanup, no custom layout work, and no unusual materials or surface prep
If your request requires artwork changes, specialty materials, complex placement, additional prep, embroidery digitizing, or anything outside a standard garment, it moves to Project Type 2.
Project Type 2: Customer-Supplied Projects (everything else)
This project type includes specialty garments, delicate materials, embroidery, multi-placement jobs, installs, surface prep, artwork cleanup, rush work, and anything that needs extra evaluation.
We will review the item and confirm the plan before work begins.
Condition of items
To help your project turn out well:
- Apparel must arrive new, clean, and unwashed.
- Surfaces for decals must be clean, dry, wax-free, and silicone-free.
Surface prep can be added to your order if requested.
If an item is dirty, used, fragile, heavily worn, or questionable, we may decline it or require a test.
Materials we can and cannot accept
Often acceptable:
- 100% cotton, cotton blends, many standard polyester garments
- Glass or painted metal in good condition
- Smooth plastic panels
May be declined:
- Water-resistant or DWR fabrics, high-stretch athletic knits, nylon, leather, suede
- Heavily textured materials
- Fresh paint that is not fully cured (generally under 30 days)
- Oxidized paint, failing clear coat, old wraps, or surfaces with contamination
- Low-surface-energy plastics or surfaces that cannot be properly cleaned
When we are not confident in the outcome, we may require a test press or test panel first.
Proofs, color, and placement
- We provide a digital proof for layout and size when the job requires it. Screen colors are approximate.
- Simple Quick Press names and numbers may use standard alignment without a full proof unless requested.
- Standard placement tolerance is up to 0.25 inch on apparel and small decals, and up to 0.5 inch on larger signs or multi-panel installs.
- Seams, ribbing, contours, window frits, and surface texture can affect final placement and finish.
Liability and waiver
Work on customer-owned items is performed at your risk. Heat, pressure, adhesives, and stitching can cause issues such as press marks, scorching, dye migration, adhesion problems, puckering, needle marks, cracking, or paint lift on aged finishes.
If an item is damaged or results are not acceptable, our liability is limited to refunding the service fee on the affected piece. We do not replace customer-owned items.
We do not accept heirlooms or items with high sentimental value. As a general guideline, we do not accept items with a replacement value over $150 per piece.
A signed Customer-Supplied Materials Waiver is required before we begin work.
Vehicle and on-site installs
- Temperature, humidity, and surface condition matter. We may reschedule for weather, curing needs, or surface readiness.
- Old paint, failing wraps, oxidized clear coat, and aftermarket coatings can reduce adhesion or lift paint. We are not responsible for pre-existing finish issues that appear during cleaning or installation.
- Avoid pressure washing for 7 days after install. Hand wash with mild soap and a soft cloth.
Care and use
Apparel
- Wait 24 hours before washing
- Wash inside out, cold, gentle cycle
- Low heat dry
- Do not iron directly on the decoration
Decals and signs
- Clean with mild soap and water only
- Avoid abrasives and strong solvents
Changes, timing, and deposits
- Changes or cancellations are allowed before production or installation begins.
- Once setup starts, materials are ordered, or an install is scheduled, fees and materials used will apply.
- Lead times start after proof approval (when applicable) and any required deposit. Rush service may be available.
